Join us for a day of fun physical activity and more. The Homeschool Field Day is a one-day event developed by students at Westfield State College to provide a safe and supportive environment in which home-schooling students ages 5-13 can come together to engage in physical activities designed to teach team work, motor development, hand-eye coordination, locomotor skills and more. Older students (12-13) participating will have age appropriate games.

Transformers:
Teams of children create various shapes while maintaining contact with a group rope.
Group Juggle:
Teams juggle and manipulate multiple objects.
Rainbow Rush:
Teams of children attempt to the quickest to create their own rainbow.
Architects and Builders:
Teams of children work together to bring their blueprints to life.
Take a Hike!
Groups of children work together to meet the challenges of an obstacle course.
Go-Kart Rally:
Pairs of children negotiate scooters over predetermined courses.

What will participating homeschooler’s be doing?
Homeschooler’s between the ages of 5 and 13 will be participating in a series of 7 stations. The stations will be guided by Westfield State College Movement Science students trained in adapting the activities to different age and ability levels.
What is the facility like? Is there parking?
The Homeschooler’s Field Day will be held inside the Westfield State College Woodward Center. The Woodward Center is a brand new, state-of-the-art academic, athletic facility. Participants will be required to change any street shoes into sneakers.
Visitor Parking is adjacent to the building and free.
What’s the day going to be like?
10:00 Arrive at Westfield State College. Parking Free
10:45 Check in at Woodward Center and be assigned to Team/Group
11:00 Engage in 4 Rotations of Physical Activity Fun

Brown Bag Lunch. Space provided for families to eat and socialize
1:00 Rotations of 4 more Physical Activity Fun Stations

What about younger or older nonparticipating siblings and parents?
While this Field Day has been designed for youth ages 5-13, there will be space for younger siblings to play in an area that is supervised by parents. Older siblings may also use the Student Lounge to read or relax.
